Maker Wine is a women-led, Bay Area-based startup that partners with various top-notch independent wineries and winemakers to bring their premium, premium wines in bottle right to your doorstep. We are a small but powerful team that shakes up the wine world and uplifts the little guys. We are storytellers, curators and creators of experiences. We want to fix a faulty system that negatively affects small producers and make quality wine accessible to everyone.

What you will do:

Corporate wine tastings and virtual gifts have become our biggest channel. We ship our premium canned wines to teams at companies like Google, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Coinbase, and one of our virtual summits hosts an engaging wine tasting.

Maker is ready for a B2B sales leader who can own this exciting channel and take it to the next level. On day one, you’ll inherit an active pipeline and growing customer list, and you’ll be responsible for growing the channel and bringing Maker to the homes and offices of corporate customers around the world. Your role will include:

  • Lead Maker’s B2B offerings and oversee end-to-end selling for corporate partnerships, virtual events, group donations, charities, and other strategic comic book opportunities.

  • Serve corporate clients from initial launch / introduction through order fulfillment and handover to the fulfillment team – price negotiation, sales framing and professional communication to deliver an exceptional customer experience. .. and always thinking about how to redirect the end customer to our ecomm experience!

  • Liaise with wine educators (sommeliers) during virtual wine tastings to ensure customers have a tailored, top-notch tasting every time.

  • Communicate directly with customers, prospects and the entire Maker team; take new orders and forward them to the fulfillment team for execution, working with the marketing, customer service and development (tech) teams as needed.

  • Grow the channel from tens of thousands of monthly sales to hundreds of thousands and more in the years to come.

  • Recording of all sales activities in the CRM; attend and contribute to weekly team meetings; report on the main indicators and sales targets.

  • Keep an eye on what’s happening in the market and ensure Maker is at the forefront of innovative ideas to support our business partners and incredible wine experiences

  • Directly support the Co-Founder and COO in developing Maker’s go-to-market strategy. This is a high impact, high visibility role in a fast growing, super fun business … the sky is the limit!

Who are you:

  • You love wine and you know a thing or two about it – you might even have some experience in the industry.

  • You’re a natural sales leader – you’ve managed a portfolio of B2B businesses before, with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 and everything in between.

  • You work independently and are comfortable handling a variety of sales at a time, from lead generation to sales operations and execution.

  • You have already built a sales funnel and / or led a sales team, and you are familiar with using CRM software such as Copper or Salesforce.

  • You like to sell a product you believe in, care about small producers and want to represent a business owned and managed by women.

  • You are tech-savvy and highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; no bullets fallen on your watch.

  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 + years of B2B business sales and / or wine marketing experience.

  • Experienced in generating cold leads and managing a strong sales pipeline.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Graduate degrees or wine experience is a plus.

  • Strong presence on Zoom and in person; able to facilitate a meeting with business leaders.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and GSuite. Experience in CRM desired.

  • Magnetic personality – you love people and they adore you.

  • Strong collaborator, excellent communicator and able to handle any problem that arises.

  • Positive attitude and a sense of humor!

Where you will be:

This opportunity is remote, with the ability to work alongside the team in person in the Bay Area. You will be responsible for serving customers across the United States.
