This week on the podcast, we’re joined by Car Quay’s Jamie Caple as he tries to remember the Cinch tagline, talks about what it must be like to sell Vauxhalls today with their new EV range, and asks why customers buy cars before the holidays but no breakdown coverage.
Caple, who runs the used car dealership in Derby and has been a multiple used car award winner, spoke of struggles in recent weeks as staff have been ‘pinged’ by the NHS Test app and Trace or fell ill with Covid.
This was particularly relevant during the week when many car dealerships said they would not take the risk with their staff by easing restrictions in showrooms from tomorrow (July 19), as they also suffered when employees had to isolate themselves.
Also in this episode, we discuss the automakers also suffering from staff isolation, the new Undercover Big Boss series, and how he and James Batchelor – aka Batch – would drive the new Vauxhall Astra.
If you’ve never listened to the Auto Dealers Podcast before, Batch and I compete against each other every week to choose the favorite stories we’ve broadcast. We then ask an industry guest to nominate the winner.
