New Delhi: Clothing and interior design company FabIndia recently launched the Diwali collection ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’. The advertising campaign for its festive new collection of the clothing brand was not well received by users of social networks.

FabIndia in a statement at the launch of her new collection said: “As we host the Festival of Love and Light, FabIndia’s ‘Celebration-e-Riaz’ is a collection that beautifully pays homage to Indian culture. ; A collection that embraces the color, atmosphere and personality of the country. Further, Fab India said, “This Diwali more than ever, we are grateful to all of us to be surrounded by friends and family. This collection symbolizes the spirit of belonging, prompting you to embrace craftsmanship. There is no reason why celebrating your roots while respecting our artisans should not be part of everyday conversation.

Bharatiya Janta National Chairman Yuva Morcha (BjYM) Tejasvi Surya criticized FabIndia in his tweet, saying, “Deepavali is not Jash-e-Riwaaz. This deliberate attempt to Abrahamise Hindu festivals, representing models without traditional Hindu outfits, must be denounced. “

Shortly after Tejasvi Surya’s reviews, #BoycottFabIndia began appearing on the microblogging site Twitter.

Manipal Global Education President Mohandas Pai also tweeted: “Very shameful statement from Fabindia on Deepavali! It is a Hindu religious holiday just like Christmas and EID is for others! This kind of statement shows a very deliberate attempt to subvert a religious holiday!
